    I live in a small mountain town in Colorado, it can get below zero for several days in a row but I would think a light would help on those days.

    I am thinking of getting a small group of hens and a rooster to start out. I am looking at the Black Australorp as I have read they do well in cold weather and provide eggs and meat. I live at just over 10,200' with 8 months of winter just about. Will these chickens do well here?
