What are these? Roo or hen and what breed?

I appreciate all the explanation. I had so many questions after the first response and you all answered all of them all. Before I could even ask lol. How are you sure they are cockerels?

What are these? Roo or hen and what breed?

I got these two and were told they were Orpington’s. But I am not sure. They are both crowing now too. I thought the one with the standing comb was a rooster because it’s been crowing for weeks. The other one just started crowing the last couple days. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

I give them layer feed and mix in old ground up egg shells in their food. I have not had another egg like this since posting. Only this one and one similar that had a small hole that looked like it was caused by a peck or my 7 year old may have bumped it when she got the eggs that day. I will...

I noticed a egg which had a hole in to the egg shell but not through the membrane yesterday. Then today an egg...

    Chickens spilling water in coop

My ISA browns keep spilling the water in my coop. I have linoleum and pine shaving litter as my flooring. I don't want the floor to be wet especially in the winter. It is a hanging waterer but currently on the ground to reduce spillage. I have metal roofing hanging over it currently because...

    New member!

Hi ya'll I'm a new member. I have 6 ISA brown hens (That's all I'm allowed to have in my county) about 9 weeks old. So far so good. I sure I will have a lot of questions. They have a 4'x8' she'd style coop with three nesting boxes and a roost. Once I can figure out how to post pics I will put...
