just a word on the hawks..we use traps on our fench posts..hawk almost always lands to pick out its prey..dont have to bait it or nothing ..just sit it right on top of the posts and end of story ..no noise from a gun ..(what? me ? i never seen any hawk!! )
no just spoon it in the jar when it gets done , while its still very hot ..we just remove some the fire so its not so hot to stand next to ..and just laddle it out right then and there in the jars.. sorry i didnt anwser befor now .been away awhile :(
a few posts back ..talking about interducing new pullets to the older gals..i wait untill its good and dark out ..slip the new gals right up on the roosts..and in the morning it all gets worked out ..have done this several times now ..and that seems to do the trick for me ..sorry had a few posts...
i must be the meanist thing around to my roo's ..there so affaid of me , that they run to the other end of the pen when i come in ..i am stern with them..if one get out of line when im out there ..it gets my shoe up the ying yang so to speak lol ..i like roo's but dont need them and there i will...
well im from the south and .dumplings to us are fluffy biscuit type floating in some chicken..to me ..if it has noddles..its chicken and noddles hands down :)
would using bread wrapper twistys on some chickens legs work to keep them identifide? make little rings out them on there legs or will they work at them to get them off ..and or what would you use to do this purpose with? ty

for apple butter you can make it several different ways ..out on an open fire pit ..or right in the oven ..just pre cook the apples untill tender..a sour or more softer apple .like jonnathons..or mackintoch ..works well ..just blend your pre cooked apples in a blender ..so you have apple sause...
