I am lady of sorts. Grew up a tomboy, always loved animals and nature, became independent at 22 and eventually met the man of my dreams who convinced me to start a family :D

We have 3 wonderful children on 6 acres in the countryside of California. I always knew I wanted chickens but never thought that dream would be realized until the house we bought came with a dilapidated coop. After breaking it and rebuilding it, and planning for a year, we got our chicks in the winter of 2024 and it has been awesome since. I came here to learn and I have learned so much!

Why do you want to join our community?
I am raising chicks for the first time! After 9 months, I grew from 10 chicks to 20 hens and 2 adult roos. It has been a wonderful journey, I have learned so much and enjoy the kindness and wisdom found in this community!
