    YO GEORGIANS! :)

Sorry I've been MIA. A LOT going on. I need to rehome two hens. Both Easter Eggers. In their 2nd year of lay. $20 each. Located in Flowery Branch. Financially, I'm unable to rehome them for free. That'll leave me with five hens-4 that I got from Flower and the one who sent me to the ER...

    YO GEORGIANS! :)

I wish her the best of luck. My cat I brought home from work is costing me $500 this week due to a UTI. Can't afford to take in any more.

    My Cat Chases the chickens

That's interesting. My cat is afraid of my chickens. They taught him respect when I first brought him home. I have trained several dogs in my life, but I've never learned how to train a cat.

Guidance Needed dog attack killed my EE

KJzCola-check out the Georgia thread. Many people in our area keep and raise chickens. They may be able to help you replace your girl. Feel free to message me anytime. I'm in Hall County. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/121387/yo-georgians/38790#post_16902385

    Something got half my chickens

Any chance you could take a pic of where the feathers were found? Were they all found in the same area?

    Fighting with oposums

Depending on where the op lives, trapping and moving a possum is not illegal. I know for a fact it is not illegal in my area. I used to work with animal control and it was done quite often. A quick call to the local DNR or Animal Control could tell you if it's legal in your area, op.

    Predators

My personal experience has been domestic dogs. Lost 4 due to neighbors not keeping theirs on their own property.

Are Dogs Always Predators to Chickens?

Your dog running through the flock is what we call chicken bowling at my house. My giant schnauzer does it.

Will black snakes harm my chickens and chicks?

Around here, the only snakes I will kill are poisonous. If they aren't venomous, they are left alone. However, all my hens are adults and whenever I raise chicks, I do it indoors until they are 4-6 weeks old. In regards to egg eaters, I get plenty of eggs so if they were to take some, it...

    Possums are Chicken Killers

I have a possum who comes in my backyard. He has never messed with any of my hens and I know they eat ticks, so unless he gives me a reason, he is welcome on my property. I have a very strong fear of rabies and we do have a "higher than average" rabies problem in our area. My personal...
