    Young unsexed gamefowl chick

    Hi i'm located in Essex and have a young chick in my care which is free to a good home, i was told that it is a gamefowl chick although the owner was unsure. it looks to me like a wyandotte. The bird has a white and black speckled chest, a golden head and silver pencilled feathers on it's back...

    Odd Japanese quail colouration?

    Thank you very much :) I just thought that it was odd as none of her parents where english white and that them genes are recessive. Also I don't know if it changes anything but her eyes are blue instead of brown, which can be seen in the second picture.

    Haha yeah that should work, a couple of quail would be a lot less work than loads of chickens. Lol I'm sure pictures of fluffy chicks could change anyones mind.

    Yeah she loves trying to dustbathe on anything soft and likes to sit on my laptop watching videos :D They are really easy to tame if you have them from chicks, They are an ideal pet really like a chicken you can keep indoors xD

    I suppose their size is hard to tell with photographs. I'm still amazed at the different colour variations between the chicks.
