Just completed year #1 as a chicken owner. in addition to the 4 bsl's, and 3 buffs out in the yard, i have 3 rir's and 3 barred rocks in the brooder that are 4 weeks today! So excited to be starting again!

Give them some grapes. You can throw down 15 grapes, and they all go after one, and chase the one who gets it, while ignoring the other grapes. Its hillarious.
My 7 month old bsl has been sitting in the laying box for 5 days. Shes laying on the 2 fake eggs, and the others just use the other boxes. So today, i picked her up and looked under her, and her whole underside is completely bald like it was shaved. Can she be molting and broody together? And...
Of course i use watermelon rind, but ive found that pre made slaw, (chopped cabbage and chopped carrots), is like crack to them. 2 bucks a bag, and i give them a handful when i get home. They absolutely love it.
If you are'nt using nesting boxes, where did they lay? Just asking, cause my first was in the floor of the chicken house, but the rest have been in the boxes.
I have 4 buffs and 5 bsl's. They are 20 weeks old today, and i atarted getting eggs a week ago. Not all are laying yet, but getting 4 eggs a day. My question is, how long before the eggs get bigger? They are amall which i understand because they are still young, but just curious.
