Check out the yahoo group Salemchickens. They have a lot of great info there and have done an amazing job fighting to change the city ordinance, and other towns have modeled thier campains after them.

Salem here also..going to the city council meeting tomorrow night to show support for the petition to legalize backyard hens, I wish they would hurry up and change the law, I miss my chickens so much!!!!!!

It's looking good for us, I hope everything is approved quickly so we have time to raise some baby chicks before summer...they should be arriving in the feed stores soon..I'm very excited about this, I was forced to rehome my hens when I moved here and I really miss those sweet little hens!

This is great news!!! Sounds like there's some progress being made. Hopefully both Salem and Keizer will soon be hen-friendly. I sure miss my little chickens, so I really want this law to change here in Salem quickly.
