    Partridge Penedesenca - Little Meanie!

Another Dobie mom! Yay! What are the odds :P They are THE goofiest dog out there. My girl gets jealous of the chicken treats too. She’s especially jealous when the chickens get grapes (since dogs can’t have grapes). Very unfair, yes.

    Partridge Penedesenca - Little Meanie!

Didn’t know that about the breed! I’ve been hand-raising chicks for 15+ years and this Penedesenca is the feistiest one I’ve come across. I have a Doberman and this chick will jump up and peck it’s nose through the grate. Very bold.

    Partridge Penedesenca - Little Meanie!

I’m currently raising a batch of 7 chicks and one in particular is growing up be a mean little bully. My Penedesenca is always pecking at and pushing around the others. So rude! He/she already has a pink crown and very thick legs. This batch is only 3 weeks old but I feel like I already know...

4-5 Weeks Old - What are they!?

So I bought two chicks at the feed store. Supposedly both female, and supposedly one Easter Egger and one Barred Rock. Now, I'm pretty sure that the lighter colored one is indeed an easter egger (green legs!). The barred rock chick, however, is missing its barring! I am also wondering about...

One Lonely Hen Left - What do I do!?

I used to have two white leghorn pullets, about 3 months old. This morning (on my 18th birthday!), I find out that one of them had been eaten by a cat during the night The one lonely chicken left looks distraught. All she does is sit next to the tree where my other hen was taken. I feel...
