I have a few juvenile turkeys that I believe to be semi-penciled bronzes. Are they? Does anyone have pictures of adult ones?
Here's what they look like:
I have some 3-month-old turkeys starting to gobble, which I've never had them do before. I know both sexes strut as poults, but is gobbling a solely male thing when they're poults?
I haven't had issues with pine shavings, but a lot of other people seem to. Sand makes great bedding, straw is alright, and paper towels (not newspaper) work well too.
I had 3 - 5-week-old turkey poults in as cold as 14 degrees last November, and they lived. I think once they're fully feathered they can tolerate about any temperature.

I have a 2-year-old Narragansett hen named Karen who started sitting on a nest last Monday. There were 18 eggs in the nest when she started out. I have one other hen that keeps laying eggs and trying to co-nest, even though Karen rips her up. Anyway, I'm worried that having too many eggs will...

Domestic turkeys imprint very easily. If you handle them frequently, then they will attach to you. Imprinted turkeys can be aggressive toward people, but turkeys that are not imprinted can be aggressive too. With my 2 bronze turkey hens one would submit to me and the tom, but the other would...
