We have an Orloff and she is very mild mannered and quiet. Unfortunately she has been picked in and has no feathers in her neck so we just separated her from the bully Welsummer and we’re putting she heals and looks and feels herself again!

Hello! I have 3 hens - or so I hope! This morning I woke up to what I thought sounded a bit like a “crow” vs the typical hen sound and I am confident it came from the Marans. My hens are 11 weeks. I have a Cuckoo Marans, Russian Orloff and a Welsumer.

How can you tell it’s a rooster so adamantly? I’m trying to understand because I too am feeding concerned I may have a rooster. Mine looks the same as the one in this photo but mine is 11 weeks and just this morning I might have heard a “partial” crow. Thank you!
