I told them this was a bad time- but mommy put out the heat lamps.

These things are practically psycodelic! You can't look at them with feeling you might start trippin'
needless to say, back to the good ol white!
you know you're country when.....
you used to not have to lock the house until the neighbors son decided to become a crackhead and steals the other neighbors tractor, drives it thru the fence out the back 40, rams into rocks, gets out, runs, steals another neighbors truck, takes the cops on a 3...
I have 5 hens; 2 RIR and 3 EE'rs
They are all for the most part tame and just like almost everyone says, it really depends on their own personality.
I was so glad to see others mention the fact that they tame up more after they start to lay. I noticed that with my last 2 girls. Anyone know...

the last bag of feed i got was from tractor supply, don't remember the brand tho. but chickies don't seem to like it too much.
but that gets to my ongoing debate with hubby. he thinks chickens need corn.
I keep telling him they NEED laying pellets. normally i give...
So sorry to hear about your babies.
I,too, live in florida. (gainesville). Be prepared for a much bigger predator than you are expecting. although fox is very likely-coyote would be my guess.
I've lost 2 hens to them right at dusk, 5 minutes before i was coming to put them up for the night.
