Hoe much daylight we’re they getting to start laying in December? Mine are 14 weeks and we get about 11 hours a day of light. I figured I might not get eggs until spring.
Thanks. They’re from Hoover’s hatchery so if they’re meat birds they’re Rud Rangers but it doesn’t really matter. Why do you think the black one is a black star not a BA? She’s super sweet and likes to sit in our laps. We have 2, both are pullets.
These are from a bin at TSC. I think they’re Red Rangers. They’re huge and about 13 weeks old. They tolerate me but don’t love being held. I’m pretty sure now that they are pullets but I’m new at this so I’d like input. One of my BA’s is in a few of them also.
I’m thinking red rangers also. Hoping they’re pullets. They’re large and have huge feet/legs but I’m not seeing any feathers that scream cockerel. I’m new to this.
We have 2 in question that were freebies from a TSC bin. We’ve had them 10 weeks. I think they’re about 12 weeks based on feathers when we got them. I think they’re Rudd Rangers. Our TSC gets theirs from Hoover’s hatchery. Confirmation of gender, breed and approximate age appreciated. Thanks!
We’ve been concerned about the comb and wattles on Nugget, the first one pictured. I don’t know much about tail feathers and what to look for this early. Guidance regarding feathers would be appreciated. I’m really hoping they are pullets as we aren’t allowed to have roosters.
