We lost our first bird yesterday, a red after 2 years. Looked like sh hit her head on the side of a ledge. The other red we have doesn’t look to good either - tail down, face seems gnarled somehow. No vermin have been able to get in. It has been horribly wet. Any thoughts?

The winter side is where they all roost, now that it is cold. There are 3 bars 3.5 ft across with staggered heights. I can adjust to give more space. Depending on which level, they can be easy targets...
We feed 18%protien layer feed and only give them 2 handfuls of scratch grains and a handful...
Here you go. They have a spring/summer “cottage” and their winter one. I can isolate the pecked ones. I would need to insulate the summer cottage so they would have less draft with the temps predicted to be in the low teens.
I have 2 Orpington, one Rhode Island red and one Plymouth Rock that are missing feathers around their backside near vent and one that is absent many of their breast feathers in addition to around the vent. They are eating and not broody and have plenty of space. Thoughts? It is cold and they...
She is 8 months old. I did not think they molt the first year. She does act broody and flattens out and chortles a bit, but not aggressive. She sits on others eggs or none at all.
i have a Plymouth Rock who is missing her chest underfeathers and remains in her nesting box. She comes out on nicer days and eats and drinks, then goes back. It is cold out so I am concerned that she may not stay warm enough. Any help suggestions are appreciated.
Yeah, the advertising for chicken coops was a little misleading. Info here was much better and I think we have adequate space now. The chickens are really fun.
