Silkie issue -wry neck? Something else?

I have an 11 week old silkie. This morning, it appears like she is having difficulty lifting her head. Any picture I get of her just looks like she’s pecking the ground. She seems to be moving ok, no signs of injury, but she’s not lifting her head properly. It looks almost as if she’s tripod...

Partridge Silkie Gender? White silkie, too.

I got the partridge. The white is more blurry, but I think the comb is even smaller than the partridge’s. Please let me know if I need any more pictures.

It helps if i actually reply, right? The flock was highly indignant at your request, but I have pictures! I’m seriously leaning toward pullets, but these are my first chickens, so I’m unsure.

Partridge Silkie Gender? White silkie, too.

I have a “huge” flock of two 8 week old Silkie chickens. I’m hoping they are both pullets, but I know it’s a crap shoot and I know Silkies are very difficult to tell the gender. I’ve heard that you can tell a partridge silkie’s gender earlier than you can on any other color. That being said...

Differences between boy and girl partridge silkie

Do you know where I can find examples of this?

Differences between boy and girl partridge silkie

I have a two week old partridge silkie chick that I highly suspect is a cockerel. I’ve been told partridge silkies the easiest and earliest type of silkie to determine gender because the feathers are different in male and female partridge silkies. I can’t seem to find an example of the...

    New Chicks and “Imprinting”

Hmmm... I might try the bra thing. I've lost a bunch of weight, so I'm pretty sure no one would notice if I supplemented with a chick in each side in one of my old bras. :gig

    YO GEORGIANS! :)

I didn't know that! At least that's good news! I'm pretty sure our splash is a pullet - she acts too hen like. Of course she could be a super submissive cockerel, but I think she isn't. At least I hope she isn't. LOL

    YO GEORGIANS! :)

That's been my experience. There was a place that "rented" chicks out for a month and if you liked them, you kept them. Supposedly, they would help you sex them by the end of the month and they had a rooster guarantee. That farm isn't doing the program this year, and I can't find ANYONE who...

    YO GEORGIANS! :)

Thank you! I've been really nervous - I don't want my 2.5 yo to fall in love with one of them and then have to figure out what to do with a Roo. >.< I know it's a possibility, but still....

    New Chicks and “Imprinting”

We’re super new chicken owners and I’m sure we’re doing just about everything wrong. We have two 10 day old silkies we got at 2 days old. The partridge silkie is acting in ways that make me think it might be a cockerel. While the first day or two it would dive under the other silkie when we...

    YO GEORGIANS! :)

Yeah, that’s what I was afraid of. We can’t have Roos here. Sigh... I guess we gotta find another chick.

    YO GEORGIANS! :)

I have two silkie chicks. They are 10 days old and are supposedly a partridge and a splash. I’m not certain the splash is actually a splash. Do the spots show later? I was hoping for two pullets, but I’m starting to think the partridge is a cockerel. When we first got the chicks at two days...
