    Hi CuriousChicken, My girls are looking much the same, I'm starting them on a crumble today. It's got 17% protein, the other feed was grains and had 15% protein in it. hoping that they love it!! have you got any favourite treats that your girls get?

    That's a good idea, to weigh them. i don't have scales though, so I'll have to work on that. I usually wean all my animals onto new diets over a few weeks, hopefully since I only have three chickens they'll be easy to observe The food intake etc. As a general opinion - Should 6 month old...

    I'll definetly give the crumbles a go then!! they seem to eat a lot of those grains but not put on any weight. Granted the 2 young girls are still growing - one of them is massive in comparison to the others! but Cersie is an adult and has very little muscle mass on her breast. I'll try find out...

    - sounds like it, definately a layer mix though. I'll have a look into the crumble availability. Can you please tell me what makes the crumble better? is it that they seem to eat more of it or is the nutritional content?

    Thanks for everyones input, it's great that the feedback comes so quickly. I'm sorry I didn't get on the site quicker myself! It's been crazy week - my little girl just turned 2 :-) The darker 2 chickens (Bow and Cross) are only about 6 months old and I don't know how old the other chicken...
