I hatched these girls myself last fall with shipped eggs. Breeder had 3 colors mixed together - black, white and buff. I got 3 black, one white and then this. What is this color? I was thinking buff at first, but then her head turned gray.
I actually hatched my silkies. I got 3 black, one white and one weird buff colored one with a grey head. They are 12 weeks old and I have no idea the sex. There is one that I suspect is a rooster just by behavior, but they all look the same, lol.
He is the only one that hatched out of 12. It is day 23, so I'm giving the others a little more time before I give up. I haven't seen him eat, but I did put his beak in the water and saw him drink. He is just so lonely and cries very loudly for such a little chick.
He opens his mouth and his throat vibrates, but he's not making any noise. I did raise the heat lamp and he has a little cardboard box house I made for him.
I have a newly hatched serama chick. He is 2 days old. I noticed him doing this this morning? Is it normal? Is he too hot?

Is this a leghorn? She was a freebie at tractor supply because she was the only one left from a previous batch and older than the other chicks. She is kinda small compared to my others (orpington, brahma, naked neck and 2 EE) She's all white with orange legs, a single comb and a perky tail.
Yes, labor day weekend (Sept 1) I got 5 "newborns" and they threw in a week old leghorn for free. They are all different which makes it hard to compare. It's weird because they look like chickens, but they still cheep like babies. This was taken the day we brought them home. Star is the little...
