    Bell-Matic watering system trouble

I just setup a new bell waterer for my flock, the pressure is set to 8 lbs but the trough will not stay full. It's as if the spring isn't strong enough to lift the bell to open the valve. Anyone else have trouble like this? Any ideas to fix it? I have thirsty birds to care for!! Thanks a bunch -G

chickens still sorting out the pecking order?

Yeah. they have plenty of room, I have a big coop and its just the 6 of them. I guess I will try and separate the ring leader if I can pick her out. How long should I keep her separate? Can I keep her seperate in the same coop? I dont really have anywhere else to keep a hen. Any suggestions?

chickens still sorting out the pecking order?

I am sure this has been answered before, but I can make the search feature work for me. I hope you all dont mind.... I added 2 EE pullets to my flock of 4 brown leghorns early in February. They all stopped laying and squabbled for a few (4 or 5) weeks. Things seemed to have settled down and...

    Whats wrong with Amerucanas?

I have the opposite problem. My leghorns stopped and wont start again. I get 2 green and 1 white almost every day from 2 ameraucanas and 4 brown leghorns.

How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

3 eggs from 6 girls. 3 were green, 1 white. My leghorns are still now laying well. They really dont care for the EE's very much.

My ladies stopped laying, not sure how to resolve it.

Ok, I know this is ridiculous but no sooner did I post a question about my girls not laying my 2 new girls started laying. The leghorns arent all laying yet, but Im guessing it will be soon. What a relief, I thought they may never start to lay again. Now, I wonder how they will take to the...

My ladies stopped laying, not sure how to resolve it.

I figured they were stressed, the new arrivals spend most of their day roosted, I was hoping for some tactics to reduce stress maybe? I didnt worry too much about quarantine because they are from the flock next door. My birds will mingle with theirs fairly regularly. I havent been keeping an...

My ladies stopped laying, not sure how to resolve it.

I have 4 light brown leghorns (hatched last march) that were laying 3 or 4 eggs daily. I acquired 2 Ameraucana hens (that were laying) from a friend that was dealing with over crowding. Since the 2 new hens were added, about 4 weeks ago, I am getting 1 or no eggs at all. The egg I get is...
