    anyone in ct slaughter

there's a place in RI that will slaughter your birds for about $3 each. Honestly, though, it's realtively easy to do if that type of stuff doesn't bother you. If you didn't want to do it yourself or keep the meet after processing, try putting them up on craigslist for slaughter or pet. Word...

    How to care for Goats?

sunny & the 5 egg layers : Hello, I am thinking about raising some Nigerian Dwarf Goats. I would only get two and they will be kept as pets. I am a complete newbie to goats and know hardly anything about them. I'd like to research them before buying any and I know lots of people on here own...

    goat worming ivermectin and ivermax

As long as the bottle says ivermection 1% you should be fine. I buy the generic version from Jeffers and it works just the same.

She sounds fine to me. Sometimes they make snorting noises when they feel a threat coming on or they get jumpy/anxious/excited.

    My Hermit Crabs ^^

Very cute indeed! I had hermit crabs as a kid - I killed them by accident because I thought they should have something other than water to drink, so I gave them apple juice. I've been thinking about getting some for my son, as long as he knows NOT to give them apple juice!

    Bottle Baby Goat

They'll only drink about 1-2 oz the first few days, and should be fed about 4x day. After a few days she should start getting about 3 oz and after the first week or so you can trim the feedings to 3x day. Just like any baby, she'll be very tired and sleep a lot the first few days. FWIW, if...

    goats and some med doses?

Here's another great website listing a lot of different medicines and doses. The CD&T is given at a rate of 2cc per goat, regardless of age, size, weight or breed. It's perfectly safe for pregnant does - actually you should give your doe the shot about 4 weeks prior to kidding if you know her...

My Older boer goat......Nada......is she pregnant? New Pictures!

Wow...she looks AMAZING! Had she just eaten when you took those pictures? If not, then I'd definitely say she's bred. If so, it's likely that she's bred, but she could also just be really really full. Her udder doesn't look as though it's started to fill so, assuming she's bred, you still...

    Do bucks/goat ever stop eating?

He's just fine and very handsome! As long as you've given him his CD&T he's probably just more of a browser than 2 meals a day type goat. FWIW, I don't feed much grain, if any at all, to all of my goats during the warm summer months. They really don't need grain to live, just good hay or...

My Older boer goat......Nada......is she pregnant? New Pictures!

Quote: It was in other threads, not this one. Instead of having her retell the stories again I thought I'd just jump in and save a little time/typing for her. I have goats too - I recognized your name from BYH, though I don't go there any more.

    Might have miscalculated. OH NO

No problem. You're probably seeing her pin bones because the kid is dropping into position. Just like all the other signs, though, that can happen a few weeks prior to kidding or a day before.

My Older boer goat......Nada......is she pregnant? New Pictures!

The OP has said they put these goats through a ton of dewormers, BoSe shots and increased minerals in some other threads so worms is most likely not the case here anymore. Yes, these gals are deficient in minerals, but as us people with goats know, they go down hill very quickly and then take...
