Houston, Texas - Need to re-home my 3 month old rooster

He is a handsome Blue Plymouth Tint, and a sweet boy. I bought pullets at Tractor Supply when they were just a few days old. This one turned out to be a cockrell. It breaks my heart to let him go, but if my HOA found out that I had chickens, I would lose my entire flock. I need to re-home this...

    Cooling off the Chickens?

My chickens love corn! I buy a big can of corn and pour it into muffin pans and freeze. They love this treat. They also love corn on the cob which you don't even have to cook. My chickens are panting a lot too. I try to go out there several times a day with a cool treat. They like cottage...

Do your chickens always go to the coop at night?

Here is a picture of my coop. It's new and only been used for 1-1/2 months. The board on the coop is to keep the rain from leaking inside. I clean the coop every 2 weeks, and I add shavings once in between. My chickens LOVE watermelon!! And we just discovered a baby opossum eating the...

Do your chickens always go to the coop at night?

I have 4 chickens and they are 2 months old. They are doing great. We have a small tractor chicken coop and most of the time they go into their coop at night and I close the door. But several times now I have found them on top of the chicken run cuddled up next to the attached coop. I...
