    How low can 4 call ducks handle with thick straw and no wind in a chicken coop with chickens? Our temps are getting down to -11 for two nights and then -7 back up to 20s will they be ok or should I bring them in?     Is it safe to milk yearling FF goat?

    I bred at 7-8 months old to kid as a yearling. If you think she is way too small and really just want her to grow there is nothing wrong with drying her up however if she doing fine and is healthy I see no reason why you couldn't milk her.

    For the price of an omelet, you could build a whole coop to house over 20. Cheaper and stronger. I would never buy something from a site like that it just reeks of bad produce and it's waaay too small for any number of chickens.

    I know how they all work. I was saying you shouldn't say manageable because a new goat owner, may think it's not a big deal. From what I've seen in other herds they have been able to clean out CAE with pasteurized milk including colostum and it's much less common for it to spread in other ways...

    I wouldn't say manageable. Both are HIGHLY contagious. CL is Zoonotic. CAE isn't contagious unless by unpasteurized milk and can't be spread to humans. Blood tests for Cl and Johnes aren't great but CAE tests are almost always right. Agree to never buy from a untested herd

    I believe the left one is SD and the right one is Dam. I don't see how you can if they didn't make that much just of those picature(we don't even know what freshen that was) but It's true they haven't been milk tested.

    I went out this morning to find a die-eaten mandarin duck. A skunk must have gotten through their door last night and got one and an egg. What is the best way to get rid of skunks I really don't need them around and I lost baby ducks last year to them.
