This kid confuses me. The mom is the same weird tan color and the dad was a chocolate. This chick is 5 months and im leaning towards pullet but im really confused by the color
One of my cute lil chickies. caught it doing a wing stretch! Was a batch of eggs that i decided to let hatch as my rooster (mr chocolate man) died not long after 😭
My one peahen is just now 2 so she’s been laying so i put some of her and the older hens eggs in the incubator. 3 out of 7 of the eggs are veiny on day 7. peachicky met another peachick her age who happened to be male and she lays next to him and hangs out with him (she hates the other hen and...
I’m incubating IB peafowl eggs and not sure what to price them at. no crooked toes or any abnormalities and i’m in NE Oklahoma near grand lake so i’m not sure how much people will pay. currently i have 13 eggs but the peahens are cooking them up quickly so i might get more
Ah i didn’t know if it was like with going to the breed association and testing cattle my bad 😅 I think i’d try mixed breeding currently as i’m not trying to show. I’m interested with experimenting genes over anything else
How do i breed the khaki, fawn, chocolate, blue, cuckoo, heck duck wing from my flock of white, chocolate, dun, and mille fleur? my rooster is chocolate so i can make chocolate that way but how do you get it when breeding two blacks or something?
I thought she was blue, but I’m kind of new to chickens, so I really don’t know what color hen 1 is. hen 2 give the appearance of being chocolate but has white tips on some feathers and white feathers on her feet.
both were hatched in 2021
does this white X in the yolk mean anything or am i reading to far into it? it’s the cracked egg (i cracked it obviously). I also added a pic of a normal egg from another hen that’s the same breed. There are two that lay eggs and 3 hens that haven’t laid yet. is this an egg from a maturing female?
