    The broodiness of silkies is of interest to me. though I've heard it's very hard to sex them. I hope I manege to find some nice girls using the useful info above. 1 tiny question: is it possible to cross breed them? Thanks!

    The legs are feathered. It is much smaller than the usual chicks (bantam?). Its father is probably a Japonset. I'll post more pics when a bit older. Thank you!

    Thanks for the response! Well, I can't call the last-minute haphazardly-put-together things for her a brooder. From what I see in your links, mine is superbly inefficient. Will soon get a wooden box. Got the lamp already.
