One quail is hatched and nine more have externally piped
I think that it's because the chicks grow so fast that they need high protein but not sure about why the adults still need higher protein then, for example, chickens
:wootWe have seven males that we are getting ready to eat, we are keeping the four females and one male, the first quail I've ever hatched. Three females are laying, out of setting 13 eggs only one was not fertile (and two died) so I'd say the male is doing pretty good:gig
Check out this article, near the bottom there is something about a pip at the wrong end https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/guide-to-assisted-hatching-for-all-poultry.72886/
Hey guys I'm back after not being on for a while, but I'm leaving to go into the mountains on horseback tomorrow
I hope everything is okay @Tesumph!! :hugs:hugs:fl
That's amazing what you are doing even after the struggle of the fire. And thank you for helping families reunite with their lost animals and saving them. I hope everything goes well with your house and your husbands job :hugs:fl:bow
yes, I put a fan by the cage to help circulate the air and opened my two Windows but ended up just moving the brooder. I think they will be fine with the little bit of time they were in the room. And yes he got scolded, he was trying to be funny for his friends who were over.
Guys I need quick advise, my brother decided to be immature and sprayed cologne in my room where I'm brooding some quail, will they be ok with the fumes...?
