Gosling with Respiratory Infection Getting Worse - NyQuil?

This is an old thread but I thought geese don't have a crop?

    Gosling burping regularly!

Other than the regular burping my Sebastopol gosling seems healthy. Hatched this past Tuesday and abandoned by mother goose (!) I took it into house because it was weak. Up and active, what a charmer, but burps a lot and I was holding today when it happened and think it smelled maybe sulfur-y...

Need advice -- torn on whether to keep gosling or return him to farm after four days of raising him

Baby bird seems to be doing well. Not strong enough to be put out with momma yet. Don't have a breeder light. Keeping it with me against my skin for warmth. Got maybe 30 min of sleep as this baby was peeping on and off all night.

Need advice -- torn on whether to keep gosling or return him to farm after four days of raising him

Had another gosling hatch by another goose and the momma goose already has 2 goslings so she abandoned this one. I waited all day to see if I was wrong but momma goose acted like she didn't know it was hers and took the other two out and about. Would not even go back to the nest. So I just now...

    Sebastopol Juvenile has issues...

I am giving an update, long overdue, on my Sebastopol goose with all of the physical issues. Albert is pretty much full grown as best as I can tell, and I am fairly certain she is female because of her size, etc. I named her Albert after my father who was dying when I was trying to save her. Had...

Pip is a Sebastopol gosling. Wanted to attach a picture of Pip and also say I am not judging you at all for keeping your precious goose.

Need advice -- torn on whether to keep gosling or return him to farm after four days of raising him

I realize you have already made your decision by now but wanted to reply. The past couple of days, I have been giving a newly hatched gosling tlc with the hopes of reuniting it with it's mother asap. It was so weak and I originally took it to hold so it wouldn't die alone. I prayed for this...

If I don't have wood ash to put over bedding for chickens, geese, etc., before I put on more straw,

I read that, instead of removing their soiled bedding (straw) in winter, to sprinkle wood ash over and then put down more straw.

If I don't have wood ash to put over bedding for chickens, geese, etc., before I put on more straw,

Can I put sand or dirt over bedding in the coop before I put on new straw? Some people have mentioned using wood ash but I don't have any.

    Sebastopol Juvenile has issues...

Our juvenile Sebastopol has been staying day and night in a small run with a top and chicken wire about two feet up the sides of the chain link fencing. If you read my earlier post he almost died as a gosling and was kept on the porch in a very large dog kennel until about two weeks ago. He is...

    Sebastopol Juvenile has issues...

We have a number of Sebastopol geese. A few months ago, 2 goslings were hatched. We noticed after a few weeks that they were walking like their legs were heavy. One of them died so we took the other and placed him in a cage on the porch. It almost died as well but after prayer and reading that...
