Hi Debbie, I have a bunch of silkies with lice
Wondering if the two products u used to treat the mites in your coop worked? I'd rather not spend $140 on the other stuff if I can help it. Dusted all of them with Sevin this morning (48 including the chicks) and I'll do it again in 10 days, but I'd...
I have some of her birds...they are BEAUTIFUL, and Jess is a wonderful seller! All of my birds were tested (including the ones I got from her) and are AI negative and Salmonella Pullorum negative as well.
It looks like a saddled air cell. Was the egg shipped? Looks like it has lost a lot of moisture too. (Maybe too much?)
If you get it to lock down my (humble) opinion would be to let it hatch in an egg carton pointy side down.
Best of luck;)
I was talking to one of the trainers at the gym about chickens etc. the client he was training looked at me and said "Chickens are a kind of reptile, right?"
I looked at the trainer and walked away :hu
NO WORDS
Red tailed got my bird today. It was the first and only chicken I've lost to predation. My "silkie sitter" came in the house when my mother in law came for dinner, and I didn't realize it. I'm so so sorry for your loss. I completely understand your distress and sadness. Best of luck
I am terribly sorry for your loss. That is extreme and your anger is justified. $30 per laying hen sounds right to me..but feed and time! How can you be compensated for that?
I treat them like I would want to be treated. Your kind words are making me cry all over again I understand they are "only chickens" I really do! We have even ate two last year because I had too many roosters and didn't know what to do. They had a quick death (hubby) and my son and I processed...
I seriously love you, I truly needed to hear that. I can not stop crying and welling up with tears. I feel like it was preventable on my part. I shouldn't have let them out. I'm so sorry about the impacted crop..especially after winning! You should be proud of yourself! I am upset and in turn...
I just lost my first chicken to predation. She was a GORGEOUS black silkie that I hatched out in March. My mother in law let my wheaten terrier in when she came for dinner and I had no idea! She is my "silkie sitter" and she does a **** good job! I've kept chickens for about 5 years and this is...
Go into a dark closet, and use your phone flashlight. It should be bright enough. I hold my light right up to the large end of the shell. I think 102 is a degree or two too high. I would put the damp cloth over them and maybe 102 will be ok.
vetericyn or microcyn work wonders! I use it on my kids scrapes and cuts too. It's expensive but worth it. You can get it at tractor supply. Best of luck!!
