    That was my first thought too but I sticked my arm inside and did not feel the warm air at all. The coop has ventilation too. I am not sure if the pine shaves contaminated but it's the same bag I have been using. I put a thin layer of small pine shaves so the poops can be removed easily...

    These crested cream legbar hens look prettier than the one I bought from local breeder on craigslist. Maybe mine was not pure bred. hese hens have nicer looking hackles.

    it's been raining last 3 days and the chicken run is totally muddy. Worst, chickens are drinking the dirty water from the mud puddles. yikes! the chicken run is 8x24ft. I wish I cover the whole thing instead of half like I have right now.

    I am in northern California. hot/warm during summer months. cold during winter but no snow. It rains during winter months. Half of the chicken run will be cover during raining season. Chicken run is about 8x24 ft.
