Here are a couple photos of her feet--
I feel like it seems like there's just a lot of extra padding or loose skin around the bottoms of her feet, not sure what that implies
Her legs have always looked thick to me-- that and a quick-developing comb made me worried she was a cockerel...
Hi folks--
I have a lovely 11-week old Lavender Orpington pullet (Princess Kay).
She gave me a bit of a scare early on when she was just a week or two old, not seeming able to stand for more than a minute at a time. I splinted her for splay leg, as well as gave her extra supplements (poultry...
It's been a couple weeks since I posted these lovely ladies! Here's the younger 2, now 10 weeks old.
Miss Princess Kay-- I'm pretty sure she is in fact a princess. Her feather quality is so trashy, which I'm hoping will improve as she molts into some big girl feathers. I'm pretty sure...
Aaaand a 7 week update!
If Princess looks a little pink in this picture, she was startled by a flock of birds-- I feel like her comb gets pinker when she's running around or when it's very hot outside, is that a thing? It's otherwise still pretty pale. She looks very tall in these two...
6 week update for the little guys!
It's crazy how much they grow-- it doesn't seem like a lot, until I'm looking at the pictures I posted last week.
Princess Kay's comb has stagnated, hasn't gotten any redder or bigger.
Pickle continues to vex me-- hopefully still looking like a little...

We're getting a little more feathered out! Princess Kay's comb has gotten no redder (it really shows up more pink in photos-- in person, it is pretty yellow/pale)
Perfect Pickle has lost a lot of floofies on the neck. Wattles are a little pink?
And Cornfritter still...
I really hope you're right, I just adore her. The thing giving me pause was the little red splotches on her shoulders-- there's a billion Easter Egger threads and in all I've combed through people have said that's something to look for 😅
Hiya! This year we got 5 chickens from our local hatchery, vent sexed as female. Of the first two, one ended up a roo 😅
Well, we have 3 more who are still too young to say definitively, but I'd love some opinions if you've got them!
The first is 6 weeks old, an Easter Egger ("Cornfritter")...
Hello! My husband made an account to cross-post a hen or roo question from reddit, but I spend a lot of time looking at this forum, so I figured we should introduce ourselves.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are first time chicken havers this year! We are...
