    Chick death rate.

    I have no idea why they died, they came from a company that we have not ordered from before and it took them about 24-36 hours in shipping. Nothing wrong with their water and their bed was clean. We did the same things that we normally do. Thanks!

    Chick death rate.

    Hi everyone, We ordered cornish cross meat chicks about a week ago and in general through their 7-8 weeks before processing we generally lose about 5% of the chickens. This order we lost 18 chicks out of 60 in about 24 hours. 18!!!!!!!!! We have never had that happen before has anyone else...

    Chick hopping around on one foot, no splay leg. What is wrong?!?!?

    I have a Cornish cross meat chick (about 4 days old), which since this morning has been hopping around on one foot. It can move it's other leg but it holds it out to the side a little bit and puts most of its weight on its other foot. The chicks legs appear to be pretty normal as do its feet...

    We are being careful with the lamps they are still about 3-4 feet up from the hay.

    Our tractor is covered by a tarp we have not figured out how they got so wet, they are completely sheltered on all sides. I think it was just the pure volume of rain we had. Thanks!

    Wet meat birds

    We got about 6 inches of rain last night and our 5 week old meat birds (are in a chicken tractor) were cold and wet for about 6 hours. It was about 55 degrees outside. We put some hay down for them to lay in and moved there 2 heat lamps lower. Is there anything else that you would recommend...
