It was very flimsy. The "hardware cloth wannabe stuff" was plastic. I actually bought it off Craigslist. I don't remember the manufacturer. The instructions were incomplete, confusing and apparently weren't updated when they updated the design of the coop. I used it as a broader box indoors...

I'll tell you I won't be doing a kit again. I'm just happy to have survived! My first little coop was a kit. Nothing fit properly. It was a nightmare.

Whatever works! I try to recycle and be green all the time but I just didn't have time on this. We have another big project going and the chicks had outgrown their brooder! We had planned on using leftovers from my shop to build it but it didn't look like we were going to have any leftovers. The...

Yes it's mine! I am in the middle of building a big shop for my business so I bought a tiny coop with the plan on getting 3 chickens. I went to get my chickens and decided to get 3 chicks and 3 ducklings. So there went the coop! I knew I had to build something else so I went back and got 8 more...

    4x8 coop

Awesome coop and awesome idea on the floor protector! I just used linoleum. I'm thinking about changing the bedding to sand and that would probably work better than what I've got.

Converting a shed to a coop

It's 8×12 too. The run is 12×12. I have 11 hens and 3 ducks but it looks like I will be selling one duck. I ended up with 2 males. I'm looking for another female but it won't be easy around here. My hubby is not on board with my new hobby lol. This will be it for a while. The guy charged 1,500...

    coop cost justification

My first egg will be worth about $2,500! I went chick crazy at a bad time. We didn't have time to build a coop so I hired someone to build the biggest part. I never really thought about making any money. I just wanted chickens and eggs.

Converting a shed to a coop

That's pretty much what I did! I didn't have a shed but I was going to buy one. I ended up finding a guy to build one on my property for a lot cheaper. (We are handy with a hammer but we have another BIG project going) (I went a little chick crazy at a bad time) We just added a very secure...

    2 males and one female!

Thank you! I'm on it as soon as I know for sure. Not sure if the coop is big enough for any more so I'll probably have to sell one.

    2 males and one female!

The ones I suspect are males still chirp like babies. The one that I suspect is female is quacking. I guess we shall see!
