GrammiChelle, proud grand mother of Livy, age 12, Ashlynn, age 8, Conner, age 7, Jonah, age 5, and Ronin, age 4. This is my first flock and I'm really loving my RIRs pullets. They're quite friendly. I really adore my Langsgans, a blue roo, and a blue hen, a black roo and 3 hens in varying shades from blue to black. Since they're still about 9 weeks, the Langshans are not completely done feathering. They're more skittish, and don't settle down as well when I do catch them, but I'm determined to interact with my birds, soil keep handling them until they get used to it, for very short periods of time. I also take care of some free range chickens abandoned on the property by the homeowners. I can't catch them, to touch them, yet, but I do feed and water them. They roost in trees at night, except for a hen who sat a nest of 4 eggs and thankfully, just went into the cage we had picked out for her and her family to live in safely. She seems very content to be in there safe with her chicks. The area outside the pen is patrolled by a LGD in training. I live for my family, and my pets, my dogs, my chickens, and I hope to have also cats and goats. Life is a Good
