Hi, I recently purchased a full grown duck and I absolutely love her. I am looking forward to hatching some duck eggs and I am hoping you might help me with that. I am wondering if I can do a "buy it now" and how much it would be?
I have some chicks who hatched out and looked sex link to me and thats what they turned out to be. I just can't tell the difference. I would upload photo but I have no camera at the moment. Some have much more golden red color and some have some more silver color to them. I am sure this is the...
oh no they on't, these babies got the silkie feathering, doesnt look anything like the white leghorn babies I had just hatch. And the silkie hen and roo weren't together within a 3 week span when I gathered the hatching eggs. And they have whitish skin.
I have had two chicks hatch a day early and i noticed both have silky style feathering, both have five toes on both feet, and have some darker area in their skin, but the most of their skin is whiteish / cream. I was wondering if anyone could show me photos of older silkhorns. BTW Silkie...
Just went into lockdown tonight!!! 2 1/2 days and I will all sorts of genetic crosses. I have 2 roosters, a silkie and RIR. I have these hens: RIR, White Leghorns, a silkie, turkens, and white rocks. Should be an interesting hatch. I also have a polish roo wandering around in there but I hav...
I have just started breeding some turkens and I am expecting some babies soon. I know that alot of the turkens now days are not "pure bred", and it said they originated in Europe. I am just wondering if there any flocks out there still that have not been bred to other breeds?
If you had two incubators, you see how temperature effects hatching, or you could hatch bantam vs. regular ans see which hatch first. You also might try hand turned vs. automatic turner? A hypothesis is simple to make. It has to sound very scientific. An example would be : If I use an...
In my opinion, I like the white ones the best, they look like giant, moving puff balls. If you get them from someone who knows their silkies, you can get really good extremely puffy ones. I would suggest if you could to get a breeding / showing duo, as they make a cute couple. Good Luck!!!
I have eggs from my flock for the first time I am hatching. My roosters just came to age I have a due date of january ninth, and I could have a huge mix of what might come out. I could have silkie - silkie, silke - RIR, silkie - white leghorn, silkie - turken. I could also have RIR - RIR, RIR...
my sister who is two years younger is a sports fanatic and wouldn't dream of touching one of those nasty, poopy, salmonala filled chickens. I had to beg for years to my mom before I could get chickens, she won't touch them either. All the freinds I have will be going to college as well
