If you didn't have the money in your hand, you didn't spend it. It is like the people who saw the value of their homes plummet recently. If the new, lower value is still equal to or more than they paid in the first place (and they didn't refinance, etc...
I'd guess two yolks, maybe three. Poor hen, I feel sorry for her; that had to hurt.
Our hens usually lay those large multi-yolkers before they stop laying for the season, and it's the older hens that lay them.
Just a quick hello from a new member. I have had chickens since 1971 and can't imagine living without a flock. We currently have a mixed flock of about 35 Araucanas, Wyandottes, Rhode Island Reds and a few other breeds. We live on 80 acres and raise most of our food. I'm also a storyteller...
