    The light, solar panel and battery are a unit, the timer I added into it. The batteries that came with it were not enough to last, so I put a small motor cycle battery (out of my daughter's little quad) on it for the winter.

    I got a unit from rainharvest.com. It took a bit to get the battery charging with the panel, but it is working now. Comes on from 7-9 pm, then 6-8 am.
