I've been raising my small flock of Black sex-links and Brown sex-links. I just bought a few more Brown ones this spring. So they number about 15 hens and 2 roosters.
We live near Smartsville on an 8.75 acre parcel and their coop is in a 1.5 acre fenced area. I make their feed from whole grains and soy bean meal. I also grow fodder for them (sprouted grains) wheat, barley, millet, milo, lentils and black oil sunflower are what I sprout for them. Their enclosure is 24' x 80' and the attached hen house is currently 12' x 24' on a concrete slab
