    I was thinking the same thing with the breed. I bought the fry pan bargain and that is one of the breeds they send.... Can't wait to see what it turns out to be... love a surprise!

    6 weeks what breed and pullet or cockerel? this was 2 weeks ago the only thing that has changed is he/she has more brownish feathers.

    thank you everyone for your help! things calmed down and we only lost 6 total... more than i wanted but it was ok! we started harvesting them this week. thank you!

    the whole middle is open for them to reach cool spaces, but they all stay under one lamp (it snowed here yesterday) and i am not sure if they are eating the bedding

    They have lots of space and two heat lamps at either end of the brooder and ample food and water, I only have 50 (had) been checking for pasty butt. maybe i need to scoop it out more than every other day how many do you have in what size space?

    I have lost 4 broiler chicks in a week!! and one more going down now!!! I gave them save-a-chick as soon as i took them out of the box, keep food and water full!!! what am I doing wrong? *** please no one be offended I am not trying to be funny I am seriously looking for answers***

    ok my friends I have had my chicks for a week and lost two the first 48 hours thought the death was over cleaned the brooder yesterday, went out today found two more dead and another one in knocking on deaths door!!! what is going on!! that would be 5 in a week!!! I have a large brooder...

    I am looking forward to ours coming.. .we have had such a long winter I am glad we put off getting them until now.. still pretty cold here today, and expecting ice and snow this weekend
