They were the moms, we had to get rid of them as they would never lay in any pens like our other threethey ran off when broody, they would hide anywhere and everywhere ( as we let they run lose in our gardens) and would come back with 12 or so chicks, all together we found two sets of 12 chicks...
So far they all get along really well and he hasn’t attacked or pecked them once. We only have three females so far and don’t really want another cockerel
We don’t have the browns anymore and that was an old photo, that is probably the second best pic I have of them, is it not possible for hens to have a three-row comb?
Hi, around 7/8weeks ago we found our lost hen with about 12 chicks, we thought it may be easier to sex them when they were older, we did try when we found them so had some idea. (We share the chickens we have between myself and my neighbours) originally we put them in my neighbours pen however...
Thanks for the advice, do you know what I should feed them because right now I haven’t got the propped food for them, I’ve been trying to research but it’s not saying.
I was able to catch her and she’s sitting on all the chicks right now, I’m just scared that there will be loads of Cockerels as I know how hard it can be to find an owner for them. But thank you for the help

I just got some amazing news I just had to share. Me and my neighbours share a chicken and at the moment she is really broody so they have bought 12 fertilised eggs for her to lay, so in a few weeks we will hopefully have some chicks to look after
