    My run surrounds a large silver maple about 70’ tall. Thought about net to hawk proof but decided to provide some fence wire arches covered with hay as shade and shelter instead.

    Built another compost bin from a hog panel and shoveled partially finished compost from another bin center out outside in mixing in garbage, red worms and small amounts of chicky poop.     Probably not some recommend sealing the crack but I have found cracked eggs in the incubator soon begin to smell bad. The smell may be your first clue that there is a crack.
