Grazing frame plans to protect grass for chickens

Brilliant! I am going to include this in the new coop with run we are building for winter. Thanks so much for sharing, I am in Central Texas so winter grasses do well here and the girls will have grass year round this way. We have a chicken tractor/run/coop right now and will continue to use it...

What treat did your chickies get today?

Since I also have a Bearded Dragon I raise Dubia roaches so my hens get nice, well fed 2" roaches for a treat fairly often. They go crazy for the roaches. I just wish they would stop killing all the baby snakes they find in the yard!

Thick, clumpy egg yolk -- causes? safe to eat?

I know this is an old conversation but I found this to be helpful and it made sense to me since I have recently improved my hens diet and the yolks began to change with the improved diet. I almost threw two eggs out but decided to read a bit first. I was glad I did...

I had intended to get some chickens later this summer but a very good deal presented itself so we dove in. I got 3 hens and a 4 x 4 coop which left us needing to add wheels and a run. We got that done and will eventually build another coop before winter retaining what we have as well. The hens...
