    Yes, I have been thinking about that as well. I think I somehow have to do both. With the cold windy winters here, the chickens seem to spend most of their time indoors during this time. Spring, summer and fall tho your right. Outside from sun up to sun down.

    Both, we do sell eggs but every chicken seems to be a pet with its own personality. That makes culling very difficult. We even have customers/ friends that request chicks from time to time. All this while living in town. This backyard chicken hobby got out of hand quickly, lol

    The main coop will be divided into 2 rooms. I do have 2 4ft by 6ft mini coops. They were supposed to be tractors, but of course I built them to heavy to move.

    My chicken addiction has finally gone too far. I now have 68 chickens and not enough coop space. My coop is expanding to 19ft by 9ft. Big as it can possibly get. 9 of my chickens are bantams, but still not big enough. My run is massive, 200sq. Ft fully enclosed and approximately 7200 open air...

    This chick is 5 weeks old. Having trouble with breed, Prolly too soon to think about sex, any thoughts?[/IMG][/IMG] has very feathered legs, couldn't get a good shot, sorry will keep trying. Thanks for any imput

    I moved chick starter and water closE enough to her nest that she could reach it, installed a heat lamp but otherwise let nature do its thing. She showed them food and water while setting. That was pretty cool to see

    The hen story is for comparison. They were not all her eggs. I found it odd the last one hatched on day 28 is all. Now I am seeing the same thing in the bator. Temp is at 99.6, humidity is at 45. Have seen really no variation. I have no way of checking acuracy. I have ruled out Andalusian eggs...

    Yes, 2 different settings. Broody hen hatched 4 out of 10. First hatch to last was 7 days. We bought an incubator to try and hatch our own. Placed 18 eggs in it. It's a brinsea octogon 20 ex advance. Day 8 we candled. 2 blood rings and one dud were removed. 15 remaining eggs looked good. All...
