Air quality alert! Will my chickens be ok??

I have four sapphire gem chickens (a little over a year old) and we love in Philadelphia, PA. As I’m sure many other are, we are effected by the wild fire smoke blowing from Canada- in the last few days there have been air quality alerts and the air is kind of hazy and smells badly. I can’t...

Review by 'groovy_chicken_girl' in article 'Accessorizing Your Run- How to Make Your Run More Fun For Your Chickens'

Great Article! I love these ideas, and definitely want to try some out! Just by the way- chickens cannot have apple seeds, they are toxic for them! I would suggest cutting off pieces from around the core because it's still a wonderful treat for them :))

    Dog bite

Oh my gosh that’s horrible! I am so sorry that happened :( I don’t have much advice on this subject but cleaning the area often should help deter infection and neosporin is often a good idea for dog bites (from what I’ve heard) Any change in poop is most likely effect of lack of eating but I...

MY OH MY- FIRST EGG!! What do I do!!??!!

Hi all! So as you can see from the title, one of my 5 saphire gem hens just layed her FIRST EGG! I can't believe it! I really thought it would be much later- like when they were 6 months old, however unless TSC was wrong we got out 1-2 day old chicks in the very beginning of march so they are...
