ah, ok, now I get it...the standard IS feathered legs, and the ones without are considered to be at fault. Makes sense now as why there was emphasis placed on that quality. I was only thinking of how difficult the silkies were when dealing with free range birds with feathered legs, and thinking...
Hmm...I might just be ignorant or only considering functionality, but I dislike feathered legs when there is a clean legged option on the same breed. I have seen a big emphasis put on marans with feathered legs from the french line...mais pourquoi? The feathered legs make for more functionality...
