Here are some pics of the four that made it. To my untrained eye I'm wondering if they have pipped internally, but I need some experts to tell me for sure.
Thank you! I will see if I can get some decent pictures when I candle tonight. I've been able to tell with past hatches if the egg is fertile at day 10, past that...🤷
Thanks for the replies. I've done about 4 hatches and I'm just not ever sure what I'm looking at or how to tell how far along they are when I candle them. Do either of you have a resource I could check out?
Hey, all,
So I had a hen sitting on a near, she was on it possibly 2 weeks once I realized she was sitting, I don't know how long before that. I noticed 2 days ago she was off the nest and today realized something got her. One egg is broken, there are 8 others intact. I was going to leave them...
Thank you all. This was an odd hatch, only about a 54% hatch rate and three of them have curled feet. All my temp and humidity levels were consistent throughout the incubation. Thanks for all the advice. I've got some cuties.
Hello, hatching time again here. So I started all my eggs at the same time. I have one keet that's been hatched for 24 hours now, 6 others that have hatched within the last 20 hours and 7 eggs that have at least piped. Should I remove the hatched keets even though I run the risk of shrink...
I read it took a gray pearl and slate, I think, (gray)? R2elk would probably know if that's correct. I love waiting and watching all the wonderful colors that come out of the eggs. It's so fun!
Man! I've got the right combo, just aren't getting those eggs I guess. My other, half went to a cousin and half went to my dad. All doing well. My dad's think they are chickens. One of his hens took to them when he integrated them, and they follow her around. It's adorable!!!
Well, I found another clutch of eggs and incubated 13. 11 hatched! My first group was all pied gray pearls. This set has more variety! I've got several pied gray pearls again, 2 white, and MAYBE a royal pure or two. I'm trying to learn from you all on keet colors and feel like the black bars on...
So these little guys are 2 weeks old. I have them in a brooder in our attached garage. This is the 4th batch I've started this way. Typically the keets are LOUD. Like we can hear them in the house, all hours of the day loud. This group is very quiet. Rarely make the loud cheeping sound the other...
