I started our collection, but the whole family has taken to them now. The kids love watching them, and my 7th grade son acts like Santa came to visit everytime he comes back back to the house with eggs
Now I have an additional 26 chicks to add to the other 12 full grown chickens. The PO called at 630am, amazing how quick they are when it is a box full of chirping chicks;)

Thanks for the replies. We check them several times a day and have determined that they are not morning birds (so far) it seems around midafternoon before they decide to leave a present.
:weeeThat's the risk of subscribing to these magazines, there is no telling what they may convince you of. Two years ago if you told me I was going to be growing my own eggs I would have laughed. I still laugh everytime I carry eggs back to the house.
Thanks Ray, I have been down your way many times helping them out at the Police Academy. I always wanted to stop at the dairy near there and get some fresh milk and butter but never timed it right or didn't have time to stop. One of these days I'll make it in there.
I subscribe to it. I found it to be money well spent. The last issue had a story about beekeeping. I would like to have my own supply of honey, but I don't like being stung.
