Yesterday she seemed fine, but today she had just one eye closed again. She isn't so eager to eat, and I think I saw her trying to poop and couldn't, she's so underweight. I got her to open her eye out of fear so she could run away from me. The closed eye looks about the same as the other
Thank you. My Mama said she had feathers in her mouth yesterday, and she tried to eat a leaf after the eggs even though her eyes were open, so she'sdefinitelynot doing her best. Maybe it's molting. We'll watch her closely
The eggs were still hit, that's why there's ice cubes. She's about 3 years, and apparently I scare her so bad that she decided to open her eyes and ran from me. I've brought her outside since then, she only eats with others, and is keeping her eyes open now. She still looks a little cold, but...
This morning I found my hen with her eyes closed. Even when I touched her face she kept them shut. She's always been scared of me, so she tries to hide when I'm near, but she clearly doesn't feel like moving much. She's so skinny, empty crop, and won't eat the eggs I've offered. It's the time of...
Milky Way is looking and acting much better now. Haven't confirmed she's laid an egg, but otherwise she's her usual self. Thanks for the help, I'll keep updates if anything changes
Last night she ate quite a bit before bed, this morning her crop is near empty. I've got her in a separate pen with scrambled eggs, although she isn't eager to eat right now, still drinking a bit. She hasn't laid an egg in all this time. I don't have a lot of access to a fecal float or the...
She lays regular eggs about every two days, although the skin around her vent and belly has been red for a while (since I had to cut off the feathers stuck to a large poop ball). Otherwise, I haven't seen this kind of leakage.
She does not have water belly, and her crop is nearing empty. I...
Thanks! I searched it up, looks like it can be cured with apple-cider vinegar, but I've already been putting that in their water for a while now. The yellow isn't really on her vent that I can see but is more of what she's "pooping." She had squirted out a lot after the bath.
She can be sometimes, but this is different. She ALWAYS eats, my hungriest hen, and now won't and is uncomfortably discharging yellow fluid from her vent.
Hello! I've got a hen, Milky Way, who's always a hungry girl and first to eat the food I give her. Last night, she stayed in the nesting box, J thought she might be trying to lay, but this morning she was still in there and I felt nothing in her abdomen.
I gave her a warm Epsom salt bath...
