a $200.00 solar panel from Harbor Freight will operate about a half a light bulb. Unless you want to spend around a hundred grand forget solar for anything but a warm glow from a path light.

There is one for sale on Craigslist for $200.00 but I can't find a reference to it anywhere on the net. Anybody know anything about it? 300 egg capacity. I wonder if the seller meant 1202 instead of 1212.

I have about a hundred ideas. Here are the first four.
1 - put some hardware cloth over the windows.
2 - put a 2x4 roost up.
3 - put some sand or pine shavings on the floor
4 - put some chickens in it.
I ordered the book yesterday but I'm in Baja Arizona. I have no doubt that a three sided or fresh air coop would be adequate for most of the year but I'm concerned about the monsoon season when we get violent electrical storms with high winds and buckets and buckets of rain.
