We have a Australorp hen, about 1 year old, that has never laid a normal egg. We got them in June this year, all the other Australorp hens which are the same age, are all laying perfect eggs.
For the last few weeks, once a week, we would find a broken (after being stood on) soft shelled egg...

Thanks Yes, home built, used an old melamine counter top for the roof and off cut/left over cladding and ply board to do the rest.
I routed out the half rounds for the front and used the bits I cut out for the step up bar.
We designed these nest boxes around the black plastic crates we found at the plastics store. The crates are removable for cleaning. Came out quite nice, we think
