Yah, i was suspecting that. I may go with keeping the barred rock momma chicks instead. not much of a comb at all on those yet. Here is mom and dad. i gotta get a better pick of mom. niether is pure white like the little one, so interesting to see that shine through.
Curious if anyone has ideas about the gender of these two week old chicks. Mom is a EE (Color Pack they called it specifically) and Dad is a Blue Americauna. Trying to determine the white and blue(light grey) ones are indeed pullets. I'm hoping so as these are two from incubator that I hope...
That's a nice run, no matter which way you look at it. I'm still trying to make it work sort of free ranging on just less than an acre that they roam in. 5ft. fence around perimeter that they stay in. Other than that they have a 10x6ft. run. It's a challenge keeping them safe from hawks...
