    How lovely. I'm not sure if your Isa Brown will retain those beautiful feather colours when she grows up. I'm new to chicken keeping. It's so nice you got different colours. They seem to get along well.

    How long to let hen sit on unhatched eggs with chicks? Pls help!

    5 chicks was the total. Thanks for everyone's advice. Mums and babies are well. The two hens seem to be sharing motherhood, so far no problems. I removed the other eggs which started smelling rotten. I haven't done an eggtopsy to see what the cause was.

    MyHaven, Only 5 little bubs. No more chicks hatched. All the other eggs started smelling bad, so I removed them from the nest today.     Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

    5 newly hatched Orpington chicks from eggs I was donated/bought. Mums are sharing a playpen inside the house. The blue Orpington on the left had 2 white chicks (one white chick is not on view), while the buff Orpington had the 3 cuckoo babies.
