Ended Contest #3 Cutest Baby Fowl - 8th Annual BYC Easter Hatchalong

This was my first hatch ever! My Mama hen, Sally Mae, took them to the roost when they were 3 weeks old! We got a picture from underneath.

    Pen G Procaine dose?

Just curious what you ended up doing with your Tom? I have a hen that also has ongoing bumble foot. I have treated it twice with removing the bumble. I just can't get it all....so, I'm thinking it will be easier to try Pen G IM. Did it work for your Tom?

When do Salmon Faverolles start to lay?

Nope...but now they are 5 months old and still no eggs...but they are getting bigger, redder combs and tiny little wattles now. So, I'm still hopeful that it will be soon.

So, how old were they? And what were your indications that they were close?

When do Salmon Faverolles start to lay?

I can't imagine that it is normal and sure hope not! I have 5 Faverolles puppets that are almost 3 months old. I'd love some more input from people who've raised them about when to set up my nesting boxes :)

Which one of these is most freindly/ your favorite?

Really?! I will look into that!! I don't think I have a Tractor Supply near me.

Which one of these is most freindly/ your favorite?

Thanks!! I have gotten nothing but awesome reviews about Silkies, but I already have 5 Salmon Faverolles. They are all very friendly and come running to the fence for me to pick clover and dandelion greens for them. I had read the Silkies aren't the greatest layers. But I excluded them for now...

What do you have in your flock?

I post I read on a site swore that to cure egg eating you need to fill a plastic Easter egg with mustard.

What do you have in your flock?

Thanks!! I am mostly looking for temperment compatibility, but the egg color was a plus....I'll see if there's a breeder around. I've heard they have better survival instincts than the SF. So, I thought it might be a good addition if they didn't bully them.

What do you have in your flock?

Anyone have Welsummers with Salmon Faverolles or Americauna or EE??

What do you have in your flock?

That was all great information! Thank you! I have found someone near me that has week old Americauna chicks. So, I think I'll get at least 2 or 3 of those. He also has Polish and Silkies, but I don't know almost anything about them. I'll need to do some research...he doesn't have Cochins, but I...

What do you have in your flock?

I'm brand new to chickens and have 5 1month old Salmon Faverolles! I love them already and just got a coop that is bigger than they need, so I want more chickens!!! Haha!! I've read lots about Faverolles getting bullied, so I'm wondering about getting other breeds. I'd like to mix it up a...

Which one of these is most freindly/ your favorite?

So, I am brand new to chickens, but we finally moved out of a subdivision and have the space, so I let no moss gather. I am jumping in. I have 5 Salmon Faverolles chicks who are having their month old birthday today! I chose them because of their reputation for being docile and good, cold hardy...
